T-Mobile lifted its annual forecast after reporting more than 1 million new postpaid subscribers in the third quarter — exceeding analyst expectations thanks to strong demand during Apple’s iPhone upgrade season. The results mark T-Mobile’s best third-quarter subscriber performance in over ten years.
The U.S. carrier now expects to add 7.2–7.4 million total postpaid customers next year, compared with its earlier 6.1–6.4 million outlook. Revenue for the quarter reached $21.96 billion, slightly above Wall Street projections.
Incoming CEO Srinivasan Gopalan said improved network perception and premium plan offerings drove the gains. Meanwhile, T-Mobile’s T-Satellite plan — offering connectivity in rural and remote areas — has become a major draw, supporting messaging and navigation apps like WhatsApp and Google Maps.
Shares slipped 2% as the company raised its annual capital spending target by $500 million to about $10 billion, reflecting the integration of UScellular.
