Grand Theft Auto VI fans are in for a longer wait. Originally planned for a 2025 release and later set for May 2026, Rockstar Games has now officially pushed the launch to November 19, 2026. The delay comes as the developer aims to deliver a game polished to the high standards players expect. In a blog post, Rockstar expressed gratitude for fans’ patience, highlighting that the extra months will allow them to fully realize the sprawling state of Leonida and a modern-day Vice City setting.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick emphasized that the new release date reflects a commitment to quality: if a game requires more time to reach its best possible version, it will be given that time. He also noted that the November window aligns well with the company’s fiscal calendar and provides a strong release period for players.
Upon launch, Grand Theft Auto VI will be available exclusively on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, though a PC release is expected to follow later. Rumors about a potential $100 retail price have sparked discussion across the gaming community, but anticipation remains high for Rockstar’s next big open-world experience.
