Dell has officially revived its XPS laptop lineup at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, reversing its 2025 decision to streamline and retire long-standing product families. The return of the XPS brand marks a renewed focus on premium design and performance, with the introduction of the new XPS 14 and XPS 16 models.
Both laptops reflect a clear return to the classic XPS design language, featuring lightweight aluminum chassis elements combined with Gorilla Glass surfaces. Dell has refined the minimalist aesthetic further, with cleaner lines and a prominent XPS logo on the lid, reinforcing the brand’s visual identity. Despite their premium build, the laptops remain notably thin and light, with the XPS 14 weighing just 3 pounds and the XPS 16 coming in at approximately 3.6 pounds, making them the thinnest XPS models Dell has released to date.
Under the hood, the new XPS systems are powered by Intel’s Core Ultra Series 3 processors paired with Intel Arc graphics. According to Dell, this combination delivers up to 78 percent faster AI performance and more than 50 percent improved graphics performance compared to the previous generation. Battery life has also seen a substantial improvement, with Dell claiming up to 27 hours of typical usage or more than 40 hours of local video playback when configured with the LCD display.
Display options are another key focus. Buyers can choose between a 2880×1800 OLED panel using Dell’s tandem OLED technology for enhanced brightness and contrast, or a more power-efficient 2560×1400 LCD option. Both displays feature InfinityEdge bezels and support a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, balancing smooth visuals with power efficiency during multitasking and media consumption.
Dell also confirmed plans to introduce a redesigned XPS 13 later in 2026. The upcoming model is expected to be smaller, lighter, and positioned at a more accessible price point, expanding the XPS lineup to a broader audience. The XPS 14 and XPS 16 will be available starting January 6, 2026, with starting prices of approximately $1,650 and $1,850, respectively. Additional configurations are scheduled to launch in February.
