Singapore-based technology group Grab Holdings has acquired China-based AI robotics company Infermove to strengthen its first- and last-mile delivery operations, the company said on Tuesday.

In a statement to Reuters, Grab noted that it is continuously exploring smarter ways to better connect online and offline services. As part of the acquisition, Infermove’s AI-enabled robotics solutions will be further developed from Singapore and integrated into Grab’s existing delivery ecosystem.

Infermove specializes in autonomous robotic technologies designed to optimize logistics processes. Grab said its teams will evaluate how these robots can be deployed to improve efficiency, reduce operational friction, and enhance experiences for both customers and delivery partners, particularly in dense urban environments.

The company, which is listed on the Nasdaq, did not disclose the financial terms of the deal. The acquisition comes as delivery platforms worldwide increasingly turn to automation to manage costs and meet growing demand for faster and more reliable services.

Grab said the move reflects its longer-term strategy of using advanced technologies to strengthen its logistics infrastructure, with a particular focus on the most complex and costly segments of the delivery chain.
