India has welcomed top executives from leading artificial intelligence companies and global leaders to New Delhi for a major AI summit, as the country aims to position itself as a key destination for technology investment.
The India AI Impact Summit brings together figures from companies such as Google, OpenAI and Anthropic alongside policymakers and business leaders to discuss the future of AI governance and deployment. The event marks the first time the global summit has been held in a developing nation.
India is already emerging as a major AI market, with companies including Google, Microsoft and Amazon pledging billions of dollars in investment toward AI and cloud infrastructure through 2030.
While the country has yet to produce a frontier AI model to rival those from the United States or China, officials are focusing on large-scale application and real-world deployment as a strategic advantage.
The summit is expected to draw over 250,000 visitors and highlights India’s growing influence in shaping how artificial intelligence is applied globally.
