Samsung Electronics and AMD have signed a memorandum of understanding to deepen their collaboration on memory solutions for artificial intelligence infrastructure.
The agreement focuses on supplying Samsung’s next-generation HBM4 memory for AMD’s upcoming Instinct MI455X AI accelerators, along with optimized DDR5 memory for EPYC processors.
The companies will also explore a potential foundry partnership, where Samsung could manufacture future AMD chips, signaling a broader strategic alignment beyond memory supply.
Samsung is positioning itself as a key supplier in the high-bandwidth memory segment, which is critical for AI workloads. The move comes amid intensifying competition among chipmakers to secure long-term supply deals as demand for AI hardware continues to surge.
