LG’s 39-Inch OLED Ultrawide Gaming Monitor Drops Below $800

The LG UltraGear 39GX90SA-W has received a major price reduction, with retailers including Amazon offering the premium gaming display for approximately $768 — less than half of its original $1,600 launch price.

The aggressive discount arrives as many PC gamers continue focusing on monitor and peripheral upgrades instead of full hardware replacements amid high component prices.

Large OLED Display Targets High-End Gaming Setups

LG’s UltraGear 39GX90SA-W features a massive 39-inch curved OLED panel with a 3440×1440 ultrawide resolution. The monitor also supports a 240Hz refresh rate, positioning it toward competitive gaming and high-framerate PC experiences.

The display includes compatibility with both AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync technologies, helping reduce screen tearing and improve smoothness during gameplay.

Compared to standard 34-inch ultrawide monitors, the additional screen size provides a wider and taller viewing area, making the monitor especially attractive for immersive single-player games, racing simulators and multitasking setups.

Smart TV Features Included Alongside Gaming Hardware

Beyond gaming specifications, the monitor also integrates several features commonly found in smart TVs. LG includes WebOS directly on the display, allowing users to stream video content and access apps without connecting a separate PC or console.

Connectivity options include USB-C video support with 65W charging, multiple USB-A ports and an Ethernet connection for wired networking.

While the USB-C power delivery may not fully support larger gaming laptops under heavy load, it remains suitable for many productivity-focused devices and lighter portable systems.

Discount Reflects Growing Competition in OLED Market

OLED gaming monitors have become increasingly competitive over the past year as manufacturers push larger panels and higher refresh rates into more accessible price ranges.

The current discount places the UltraGear model significantly closer to premium LCD gaming monitor pricing, potentially increasing interest among users considering their first OLED upgrade.

Retailers including Amazon, LG, Best Buy and Newegg are currently offering the display at similar promotional prices, though availability may fluctuate due to demand.
