Microsoft to End OneDrive Support for Windows 10 Version 22H1
Microsoft has announced that OneDrive will no longer support Windows 10 version 22H1 starting August 15, 2026, marking another step in the company’s gradual phase-out of older Windows 10 releases.
Users who remain on Windows 10 22H1 are encouraged to upgrade to Windows 10 version 22H2 to continue receiving OneDrive updates, security fixes, and full compatibility.
OneDrive Support Ends on August 15
Beginning August 15, 2026, Microsoft will officially stop supporting OneDrive on Windows 10 version 22H1.
While the OneDrive application may continue to function after that date, Microsoft will no longer guarantee that cloud synchronization will work reliably or receive ongoing maintenance.
Users who continue running Windows 10 22H1 should be aware that any issues encountered after support ends are unlikely to be fixed.
No More New Features or Security Updates
After support is discontinued, OneDrive users on Windows 10 22H1 will no longer receive:
- New features
- Security updates
- Bug fixes
- Compatibility improvements
As Microsoft’s cloud services continue to evolve, remaining on an unsupported version may eventually lead to synchronization failures or other reliability issues.
Upgrade to Windows 10 22H2
Microsoft recommends upgrading affected systems to Windows 10 version 22H2 before the August deadline.
Doing so will ensure continued access to:
- Full OneDrive functionality
- Future feature updates
- Security patches
- Ongoing bug fixes
For users who rely on OneDrive to synchronize documents, photos, and other files across devices, upgrading is the best way to avoid potential disruptions.
Support Continues Until 2028
According to Microsoft, Windows 10 version 22H2 will continue to receive OneDrive support through October 10, 2028.
That extended support window provides users with several more years of compatibility while Microsoft continues its transition toward Windows 11 and newer versions of its cloud services.
Users still running Windows 10 22H1 should plan to update before August 15, 2026, to ensure uninterrupted access to OneDrive and future service improvements.
