Broadcom is reportedly in talks with lenders to raise more than $60 billion in debt financing for a major AI chip infrastructure deal that could benefit Anthropic and other technology companies.

According to Bloomberg, the financing could include a roughly $30 billion junior debt tranche, while Broadcom may guarantee part of a senior-secured tranche worth between $60 billion and $70 billion. The total financing package could potentially reach $100 billion.

Broadcom has become a key supplier of custom AI chips and networking technology for companies including Alphabet and Meta, as major technology firms seek alternatives to Nvidia’s dominant GPU ecosystem. The company also has chip supply relationships with Anthropic and OpenAI.

Private-equity groups Blackstone and Apollo Global Management are reportedly in discussions to participate in the financing. The proposed structure could resemble an earlier $35 billion agreement designed to expand Anthropic’s computing capacity using Broadcom hardware.

The new deal would further highlight how AI companies are increasingly turning to debt markets and special-purpose financing structures to fund enormous investments in data centers, chips and computing infrastructure.
