nVent Electric said it will acquire data center equipment maker Maverick Power for $1.75 billion, expanding its exposure to the rapidly growing AI infrastructure market.
The deal will strengthen nVent’s power distribution capabilities and broaden its portfolio for data center customers as technology companies continue investing heavily in computing capacity for artificial intelligence.
Texas-based Maverick Power manufactures engineered electrical infrastructure, including low- and medium-voltage switchgear, switchboards and modular power systems used in data centers and other large facilities.
The agreement also includes up to $550 million in additional cash payments if Maverick meets specified performance targets in 2027 and 2028.
nVent plans to finance the acquisition using a combination of existing cash and new debt. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.
The acquisition reflects broader consolidation among electrical equipment suppliers as AI-related data center construction creates strong demand for power management and distribution systems.
