Today at IFA in Berlin, Acer unveiled its latest innovations with the introduction of the first Swift and TravelMate laptops powered by Intel’s new Lunar Lake CPUs. These laptops are not only equipped with advanced processing capabilities but are also designed to handle demanding AI tasks. The Swift models showcase a premium aluminum design and an OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the TravelMate impressively weighs just 2.20 pounds. Here’s a closer look at what these new devices offer.

Acer Swift 14 AI and Swift 16 AI

The Acer Swift 14 AI and its larger sibling, the Swift 16 AI, feature Intel’s Lunar Lake processors, available in both P-Core and E-Core varieties. The P-Core processors are optimized for high-performance tasks, while the E-Core processors offer power efficiency. Both models include an integrated NPU capable of up to 48 TOPS (tera operations per second), enhancing their ability to manage AI-driven applications.

The Swift 14 AI comes with up to 32GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage, offering a choice between 3K and 2K OLED display resolutions, with optional touchscreen functionality. Additional features include an AI Activity Indicator on the touchpad, a 1440p webcam with facial recognition, Thunderbolt 4 support, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

The Swift 16 AI mirrors many of the Swift 14 AI’s features but in a larger 16-inch size, with a weight of 3.3 pounds compared to the 14-inch model’s 2.78 pounds. It also offers configurations up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 288V.

The Acer Swift 14 AI will be available in September starting at $1,199.99, while the Swift 16 AI is set to launch in October with the same starting price.

Acer TravelMate P6 14 AI

The Acer TravelMate P6 14 AI stands out for its remarkable lightness, tipping the scales at just 2.20 pounds—an impressive feat compared to its predecessor. This model features up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 268V, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. The 14-inch display offers resolutions of 2880×1800 or 1920×1200, with a taller 16:10 aspect ratio for enhanced productivity.

An AI logo on the touchpad lights up when the NPU is in use, signaling the active AI capabilities of the device. The TravelMate P6 14 AI is expected to launch in January 2025, with a starting price of $1,499.99.
