Mercedes-Benz is taking the concept of the “mobile office” to a literal new level by teaming up with Microsoft to integrate both Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot directly into its vehicles. Beginning with the new 2025 CLA and its upcoming MBUX 4.0 infotainment system, drivers will be able to join Teams meetings using the in-vehicle camera and microphone setup. This effectively transforms the car into a fully connected workspace—complete with secure data access via Microsoft Intune for handling sensitive business material.

While this could sound like a productivity dream or a work-life boundary nightmare, Mercedes is emphasizing safety. The in-car Teams app is designed to automatically disable video streams for the driver while in motion, ensuring that shared content like slides or screens can’t distract from the road. Drivers will still be able to participate in meetings via voice and even dictate chat messages or check upcoming appointments with the new “Next Meetings” interface. For passengers or when parked, full video support is available.

Beyond Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot will also find its way into Mercedes vehicles, turning them into AI-powered productivity hubs. Using natural voice commands, drivers can ask Copilot to summarize emails, recall client preferences, and help organize their day—all while keeping their hands on the wheel. Mercedes says this is part of a broader vision to make the car a “third workspace,” bridging the gap between office and home.

The 2025 CLA, which starts at $45,550 and ranges up to $54,350 depending on configuration, will be the first model to feature this integration. Accessing all of the MBUX 4.0 smart features, however, will require an Active Entertainment Package Plus subscription, with availability and pricing varying by region. While Microsoft has dabbled in-car tech before—most notably with the early Ford Sync system—this collaboration aims to redefine what a productivity suite can do when embedded directly into luxury vehicles.
