Keychron has unveiled the Lemokey L0 HE, a flashy new take on the one-handed gaming keypad concept. Designed as a premium successor to the Lemokey X0, the L0 HE borrows heavily from the company’s higher-end Q series keyboards with its full aluminum body, hot-swappable magnetic switches, and thick PBT keycaps with subtle RGB accents. Add in layers of internal foam, a detachable USB-C connection, programming through a web-based tool, and even a dedicated scroll knob, and it’s clear this model is built for enthusiasts who want more than a simple macro pad.
The catch, of course, is the price: $160. That’s a steep ask for what essentially amounts to half a keyboard. And while the hardware looks premium, some omissions are puzzling for a device marketed toward serious gamers—there’s no wrist rest in the box, wireless connectivity is missing entirely, and switch compatibility is limited compared to other platforms. Worse still, you can’t save unique profiles tailored for individual games, limiting its flexibility.
The Lemokey L0 HE is certainly eye-catching, but for many, it may be hard to justify the investment when cheaper alternatives like Razer’s Tartarus Pro offer broader functionality at a lower cost. Unless you’re set on the design and materials, this might be one for enthusiasts only.
