Google will provide cloud infrastructure and AI tools for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and Paralympics, becoming a founding partner of the event and expanding its role to Team USA and NBCUniversal’s U.S. coverage.
The partnership will deploy Google Cloud, Gemini AI, and new Search features like AI Mode to enhance fan engagement and streamline Games operations. “We want to deliver a digitally accessible and connected Games,” said LA28 president Casey Wasserman, highlighting features like real-time navigation and personalized digital experiences.
YouTube will work with NBCUniversal to feature Olympic content, while NBCU plans to use Google’s tools to improve cross-platform interactivity. Marvin Chow of Google said the collaboration will make the Games “more personal and interactive for fans worldwide.”
Google joins Starbucks, Honda, Comcast, and Delta as LA28 founding partners. The organization is targeting $800 million to $1 billion in new sponsorship deals in 2025, aiming for $2 billion total revenue ahead of the city’s third Olympic Games.
