Anthropic has announced a major step forward in integrating its Claude AI assistant into everyday browsing with the release of Claude for Chrome, a brand-new browser extension that functions as a personal AI agent. Once installed, the extension allows users to chat with Claude directly within a side panel, meaning you don’t need to leave your browsing session to ask questions, get help, or even complete tasks. Unlike simple chatbot pop-ups, Claude for Chrome is designed to actively interact with your browsing activity, keeping track of your open tabs and understanding their context. For now, Claude for Chrome is being introduced in a limited pilot phase.
