Veeam Software has agreed to purchase Securiti AI for $1.73 billion, marking one of its largest acquisitions to date as it expands into AI-driven data privacy and cloud security. The deal will merge Securiti’s Data Command Center — used to manage and secure data across multiple cloud platforms — with Veeam’s market-leading backup and recovery tools, creating a unified system for enterprises handling sensitive and AI-powered data.
The acquisition strengthens Veeam’s position against competitors such as Rubrik and Commvault Systems, both racing to capitalize on the surge in cybersecurity threats and the growing need for AI data compliance. Upon completion, Securiti CEO Rehan Jalil will become Veeam’s President of Security and AI, overseeing new product integrations. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
Veeam, backed by Insight Partners, has seen rapid valuation growth in recent years — from a $5 billion acquisition in 2020 to a $15 billion valuation in 2023. Morgan Stanley advised Securiti AI on the deal, while JPMorgan financed the transaction.
Securiti’s technology will complement Veeam’s solutions that enable businesses to recover clean, immutable backups after ransomware or data breaches. The merger reflects the broader convergence of cybersecurity, AI governance, and data protection, as enterprises increasingly demand all three within a single infrastructure.
