Microsoft has unveiled App Builder, a new AI-powered tool designed to let users create apps in minutes using simple conversational prompts. Built on the foundation of Microsoft Copilot, App Builder allows users to describe the functionality they want, and the AI automatically generates the app, eliminating much of the manual coding work. This approach is part of what’s being called vibe coding, where generative AI produces working code based on instructions, making it ideal for straightforward tasks and small-scale applications.

App Builder supports a wide range of business-focused functions. Users can generate apps that assign tasks, track project milestones, and visualize campaign progress. It can automate daily workflows, such as sending updates or posting reminders in Microsoft Teams channels, and even create AI agents trained on SharePoint documents and Teams conversations to help streamline organizational knowledge. The tool is particularly aimed at boosting productivity for Microsoft 365 users who want to leverage AI without needing extensive programming experience.

To gain access to App Builder, users must be part of the Microsoft 365 Copilot Frontier program, Microsoft’s early-access initiative for advanced AI features. For those interested in exploring AI-driven coding further, vibe coding can also be applied to other tools, including creating scripts for customizing Windows 11 or automating routine tasks, offering a glimpse into the growing role of generative AI in day-to-day computing.
