
Mammotion, a company best known for its robotic lawn mowers, is expanding its ambitions in the pool-cleaning market with its second robotic pool cleaner, now on display at CES. Having only entered the category in mid-2025, Mammotion is already aiming to differentiate itself with the Spino S1 Pro, a model designed to reduce manual handling almost entirely. The standout feature is a poolside docking station equipped with a robotic arm that physically lifts the cleaner out of the water once its cleaning cycle is complete, addressing one of the most inconvenient aspects of owning a pool robot.
That convenience could prove especially compelling when considering the physical burden of traditional pool cleaners, which can weigh 30 to 40 pounds once saturated with water. By automating removal from the pool, Mammotion’s design could appeal not only to convenience-focused buyers but also to older users or anyone who struggles with lifting heavy equipment. This approach positions the Spino S1 Pro as a more accessible and safety-conscious alternative to conventional robotic cleaners.
Mammotion refers to the docking system as AutoShoreCharge, and it does more than simply retrieve the robot from the pool. The dock maintains an underwater-friendly wireless connection with the Spino S1 Pro, offering a 10-meter communication range that enhances navigation, diagnostics, and real-time troubleshooting during operation. When battery levels drop, the system can actively guide the robot back to the dock, where it is automatically lifted out and recharged, eliminating the need for manual intervention. Users are still required to empty the filter basket between cleaning sessions, but nearly every other step is automated.
Inside the pool, the Spino S1 Pro relies on an AI-powered camera and multiple sensors to identify debris, obstacles, and structural features such as steps and ledges. Cleaning is handled by dual roller brushes paired with a suction system capable of processing up to 6,800 gallons of water per hour. Filtration is managed by a dual-layer system, capturing debris down to 180 microns on the primary screen, with finer particles as small as 38 microns trapped by a secondary filter. The robot supports floor, wall, and waterline cleaning modes, though full specifications and pricing have yet to be announced.
While Mammotion has not disclosed an official price, the closest comparable product reviewed so far—the Wybot S2 Solar Vision—currently sells for around $1,599. Given the added mechanical complexity of AutoShoreCharge, expectations are that the Spino S1 Pro will command an even higher price when it launches later in the first quarter of 2026.
