India’s Infosys has announced a new partnership with AI startup Anthropic to develop and deploy AI agents, just days after investor fears about artificial intelligence disrupted the country’s IT sector.

Under the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on AI-driven solutions, initially targeting the telecom sector before expanding into financial services, manufacturing and software development.

Anthropic has been strengthening its presence in enterprise AI, recently introducing tools designed to automate complex workplace tasks. The partnership aims to bridge the gap between experimental AI models and practical deployment in regulated industries.

The announcement helped lift Infosys shares after a recent selloff that wiped billions from the valuation of Indian IT firms. AI services already account for a growing share of the company’s revenue and are expected to play an increasing role in its future growth.
