Minisforum has unveiled two new mini PCs at CES 2026, expanding its lineup with models that target both high-performance consumers and professional workstations. The new systems include the AI X1 Pro-470, positioned as a flagship mini PC for creators, gamers, remote workers, and developers, and the MS-02 Ultra, a larger 4.8-liter mini workstation aimed at demanding professional workloads such as video production, photography, engineering, and content creation—while still leaving room for gaming performance.
The AI X1 Pro-470 is Minisforum’s most ambitious consumer-focused mini PC to date. It is powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX470 processor, a chip designed to balance strong CPU performance with dedicated AI acceleration for productivity, creative applications, and modern gaming workloads. Graphics duties are handled by the integrated Radeon 890M GPU, which Minisforum says is capable of smooth gaming at mainstream settings. For users who need significantly more graphics horsepower, the system includes an OcuLink port, enabling support for external GPUs such as Nvidia’s RTX series or AMD’s Radeon RX cards for high frame rates and 4K or even 8K gaming scenarios.
Beyond raw compute power, Minisforum is emphasizing communication and connectivity features. The AI X1 Pro-470 integrates a dual-microphone array with AI-based noise reduction, paired with high-quality speakers designed for clear voice calls and virtual meetings. The I/O selection is also geared toward creators and power users, featuring USB4, HDMI 2.1, and an SD card slot for easy expansion and multi-device workflows. Storage scalability is another highlight, with support for up to 12TB of internal storage, making it suitable for large 4K video files, 3D assets, and AI datasets. Minisforum says the AI X1 Pro-470 will be available globally starting next month.
The second announcement, the MS-02 Ultra, is a refreshed Arrow Lake–based mini workstation that targets professional users with far heavier requirements. The top configuration is built around Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285HX processor, delivering the compute performance needed for tasks such as video editing, 3D modeling, engineering design, and rendering. Despite its compact footprint, the system supports up to 256GB of ECC memory, along with four M.2 slots and three PCIe slots, offering workstation-class expandability in a small chassis. A pull-out internal structure is also included to simplify upgrades and maintenance.
Connectivity is a major focus of the MS-02 Ultra, with two USB4 V2 ports offering up to 80Gbps bandwidth and dual 25-gigabit Ethernet ports for extremely fast data transfer. These features make it well-suited for high-resolution video workflows, including 4K and 8K editing, color grading, rendering, and large-scale content distribution. Minisforum has also expanded the system’s versatility by enabling support for high-performance discrete GPUs, backed by robust PCIe bandwidth and enhanced cooling, allowing the MS-02 Ultra to double as a capable gaming system while maintaining workstation-grade stability.
The Minisforum MS-02 Ultra is available worldwide through the company’s brand shop, with pricing set at $1,199 for the Core Ultra 9 285HX barebone configuration and $949 for the Core Ultra 9 275HX barebone. Commenting on the launch, Minisforum chairman Roy Jiang said the new systems are designed to challenge assumptions about compact PCs, stating that the goal was to deliver serious AI compute, high-resolution performance, and enterprise-grade connectivity without sacrificing space or flexibility.
