Webflow has introduced a breakpoint canvas that places desktop, tablet, mobile and larger layouts beside one another. The feature, announced on September 2, aims to make responsive changes easier to review without repeatedly switching views.
One Canvas, Multiple Screens
Designers can expand the canvas to compare breakpoints and see how styling changes cascade across layouts. A single-breakpoint view remains available when working with scroll-based interactions or when a more browser-like view is preferable.
Webflow said the rollout would reach all users in Design, Build and Edit modes within the following week. The company explicitly excludes Preview and Comment modes from the feature.
A Clearer Review Process
The update also gives teams a way to inspect AI-assisted changes across screen sizes. A layout that looks balanced on desktop may still need different spacing or text wrapping on mobile.
Permus perspective: the benefit is visibility during editing. Seeing several layouts together can help designers catch inconsistencies earlier, but it should complement checks on actual devices rather than replace them. Responsive quality still depends on how content behaves when people interact with the finished page.
