Microsoft is enhancing the Xbox experience on PC by rolling out a new “Stream your own game” feature within the Xbox app. This exciting addition allows Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to stream over 250 Xbox console games directly to their Windows PCs without needing to download or install them. This feature significantly broadens access to console-exclusive titles and popular games beyond the existing Game Pass catalog.
Previously available only on Xbox consoles, select TVs, and through supported web browsers, “Stream your own game” is now fully integrated into the Xbox PC app, making cloud gaming more seamless and flexible for PC users. By streaming games from Microsoft’s powerful cloud servers, players save valuable disk space and avoid long installation times. It’s an ideal solution for those with less powerful laptops or those who frequently game while traveling.
The expanded library of streamable games includes major hits like Baldur’s Gate 3, Star Wars Outlaws, Cyberpunk 2077, and Hogwarts Legacy, alongside many other Xbox favorites. Microsoft continues to update the list, which now boasts more than 250 titles available to stream without owning or running an Xbox console.
To access this feature, gamers need a Game Pass Ultimate subscription, priced at $19.99 per month, and must own digital copies of the games they want to play. Note that physical game discs are not supported for streaming. Additionally, users currently must be part of the Xbox Insider program and register for the PC Gaming Preview to access “Stream your own game,” but Microsoft plans to remove this restriction soon, making the feature widely available. The service currently supports 28 countries and will expand further in the future, including adding Xbox Play Anywhere games to the streaming roster.
This move enhances Game Pass Ultimate’s value proposition by delivering greater portability and convenience, letting gamers enjoy their Xbox titles anywhere with an internet connection. For those meeting the criteria, streaming your own Xbox games through the PC app offers a powerful new way to game without the limitations of hardware or storage.
